Every Muslim desires the night filled with honor, Lailatul Qadar, which only occurs once a year. Those who consistently engage in worship throughout the year are more likely to experience the virtues of this night compared to those who seldom worship. This time, we will explore the virtues of Lailatul Qadar that make it so special compared to other nights.
1. Lailatul Qadar is the night when the Quran was revealed in its entirety from Lauhul Mahfuzh to Baitul ‘Izzah in the worldly heavens, then gradually revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over 23 years. This demonstrates the uniqueness of the night.
2. Lailatul Qadar is better than a thousand months, as stated in the Quran. The deeds performed on this night are considered more valuable than those performed over a thousand other months, according to the opinions of Mujahid, Qotadah, and other scholars.
3. Lailatul Qadar is a night full of blessings, as emphasized in the Quran. The blessings of this night are among its many virtues.
4. On Lailatul Qadar, angels and Archangel Gabriel descend. The descent of angels signifies the arrival of blessings and mercy, highlighting the special nature of the night.
5. Lailatul Qadar is characterized by ‘salaam’, indicating that the night is filled with safety from the interference of Satan and punishment, as well as signifying its extraordinary virtue.
6. On Lailatul Qadar, yearly destinies are recorded, including the writing of fate, lifespan, sustenance, and all events that will occur throughout the year.
7. The sins of everyone who observes the night of Lailatul Qadar will be forgiven by Allah, as stated by Prophet Muhammad.
May Allah make it easy for us to attain the virtues of Lailatul Qadar by engaging in righteous deeds during the last days of Ramadan.
