At least 42 people were killed after a 6.2-magnitude earthquake rocked Indonesia’s West Sulawesi Island early on Friday (15/1) morning. Hundreds more were injured when the earthquake struck in the early hours, triggering panic among the terrified residents of the island. A Mamuju resident said damage across the city was severe.
Newest information from National Agency for Disaster Management of Indonesia (BNPB) report since Thursday (14/1) until Friday (15/1) the earthquake caused landslides across Mamuju-Majene and cut off the main road. As many as 2000 refugees evacuated to safer places.
