5 Ways Muslims Can Love the Qur’an

There are several ways for every Muslim to love the Qur’an. If this heart has loved something, of course we will be attached to it, longing and not wanting to be cut off from it and achieve deep understanding and contemplation.

The first step is to understand that the love of the Qur’an is one of the reasons for obtaining the highest and strongest level of contemplation. Abu Ubaid said:

“A servant will not be questioned except by the Qur’an. And if he loves the Qur’an, then he loves Allah and His Messenger.”

Second, eliminate anxiety and worry by reading the Qur’an. Reading it is the best solution as a way of safety and avoid difficulties.

In the hadith of Abdullah bin Masud, the Prophet taught the prayer, which states that if the prayer is read it will be eliminated all sorrow and distress.

“O Allah, I am your servant, the son of your male servant, the son of your handmaiden, my ubun is in your hand, your law has passed over me, your only provision for me.

I ask You by all the Names You have, which You name for Yourself or that You teach to someone of Your being or that You put down in Your book or that You keep in the unseen sciences that are by Your side.

Make the Qur’an the spring of my heart and the light of my chest, the repellent of my sorrow and the removal of my turmoil.” Then Allah will remove his sorrow and sorrow and will be replaced by a way out and joy.”

Third, know that the Qur’an is the way to enlighten a pitch-black heart, and make a servant happy and calm. If a servant wants to feel pleasure when standing before Allah in prayer, including when for example doing various activities of life, then the solution is the Qur’an.

“We reveal to you (Muhammad) the spirit (of the Qur’an) by Our command. You did not know what the Book was or what the faith was, but We made the Qur’an a light, so We guided us who We desired among Our servants. And indeed, you are guiding (man) to the straight path.” (QS Asy Shura 52)

Ibn Taymiyyah also said, whoever sprinkles the Qur’an and seeks guidance from it, then the path of truth will become clear to him.

The Qurthubi also said, if a servant listens to the book of Allah SWT and the Sunnah of His Prophet, with sincere intentions because of Allah SWT, then Allah will understand it as it should and give light in his heart.

Therefore, if the Qur’an is attached to the heart of a servant, then he will believe that success and happiness and strength in reading and dusting the Qur’an is the beginning to the peak of success both in the world and the hereafter.

Fourth, understand that a life full of manfat can only be achieved by obeying Allah and His Messenger. Ibn Qayyim said, the true life is the life of those who fear Allah SWT and His Messenger in birth and mind. These are the people who live even though they are dead.

A godless person is dead even if they are alive. Therefore, the most perfect person in life is the most perfect in carrying out what has been said by the Prophet (peace be upon him). Everything that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said contains life and whoever ignores some of it means to have lost some life.

“O you who believe! Fulfill the cry of Allah and the Messenger, when he calls you to something that gives you life, and know that Allah limits between man and his heart and indeed to Him you will be gathered together.” (QS Al Anfal 24)

Fifth, also know that the Arabs before the Prophet (peace be upon him) were sent and brought the book of Allah SWT, were in a state of injustice. Until then the Prophet came with the Qur’an.

Ibn Qatada, in his commentary on Surah Al Hadid Verses 16-17, said that the environment of the Arabs at that time was the least, the most miserable, the most wretched in error, the barest in his skin and the most hungry of his stomach.

Until Islam came that brought them out of darkness to the light. Therefore, every Muslim should read and recite the Qur’an for guidance. Hasan Basri said, “The Qur’an was revealed to be dusted and implemented.”

Ibn Qayyim also said, there is nothing more beneficial to a Muslim in his life and who is closer to salvation, except byburiing the Qur’an for a long time.

That is why a Muslim understands the meaning of good and evil as a whole. For example how both come, its purpose, its impact on the servant, and the fate of the servant who does good and evil.
