Four things to be asked in the afterlife

All humans on the Day of Resurrection will be held accountable by Allah for their actions during their life in this world. This has been mentioned in various verses of the Qur’an.

Allah SWT says: “Indeed the hearing, sight, and heart, all of that will be held accountable.” (Surat al-Israa ‘: 36)

Likewise His word, “Then to us your return, then we will inform you of what you have done” (Surah Yunus: 23)

“Whoever does well as heavy as a dzarrah, surely he will see (reply) it. And whoever does a crime as heavy as a dzarrah, surely he will see (the reward too. (Surah Al-Zalzalah: 7-8)

And there are many more verses with this meaning. As for the things that will be asked of humans when being judged, among others, it is mentioned in the word of Allah SWT, “Then you will certainly be asked on that day about pleasure”. (Surat At-Takatsur: 8)

Regarding this verse, At-Tirmidhi narrated from Abu Hurairah Ra, he said, “When this verse was revealed, (i.e. At-Takatsur: 8), people asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what pleasure will we be asked about, whereas we only have black objects (dates and water), while the enemy is before us, and our swords are always the enemy on our shoulders?” The Prophet replied, “Indeed it will happen.”

And Abu Hurairah also said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “Indeed, the first thing that people will ask on the Day of Resurrection is that they will be asked: “Did we not make your body healthy, and we satisfied you to drink cool water?” Imam At-Tirmidhi said that this hadith is gharib.

Meanwhile, Abu Nu’aim Al-Hafizh issued a hadith from Al-A’masy, from Abu Wa’il Shaqiq, from Abdullah, he said: Rasulullah SAW said, “No one takes a step, but he will be asked about that step, what is the purpose.”

And, Imam Muslim narrated from Abu Barzah Al-Aslami ra, he said that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “The soles of a person’s feet will not move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about four things: about his age, what he spent it for; of his body, for what he is weary; about his knowledge, what deeds he did with it; and about his wealth, where did he get it and what did he spend it on.”

In this chapter there is also a narration from Abu Barzah and Abu Sa’id, I say, also from Mu’adz bin Jabal: the hadith was reported to us by Shaykh the narrator Abu Muhammad Abdul Wahab in the fortress of Alexandria by reading it before him (and Then the chain is mentioned until Mu’adh bin Jabal RA, he said that the Messenger of Allah said, “The soles of a person’s feet will not move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about four things: about his age, what he spent it for; about his youth, for what does he use; about his wealth, where does he get it, and what does he spend it on; and about his knowledge, what deeds does he do with it?”
